Shock wave is only done on a specific point on certain areas of the body. MagnaWave is safe to use on humans, pets, equines and livestock. PEMF is non-invasive, gentle and painless. Many clients describe a MagnaWave session as being relaxing. No sedation is required and there are no adverse side effects from a MagnaWave wellness sessions. A shock wave session can be painful. Shock wave creates its energy by concussion and sound waves. There is often the need for sedation and supervision of a Veterinarian or Physician. PEMF can travel up to 16 inches into the body with a wide focal point and wave area. Shock wave has a maximum penetration of about 4 inches with a small focal area of a couple of inches wide at the skin going down to a point.
